I have a Meta Headset, Meta Glasses, a Meta account.. I've given Marky a lot of my money and most of my life. That being said, I'm happy he's removed Horizon Worlds from the VR experience. As someone who copped the Oculus 1 when it dropped, I missed the old virtual environment of your choosing. I use my VR frequently right now for my TRIPP app (small flex here, I paid $40 bucks for a lifetime subscription that ima pass to my kids). I also get on there to get utility out of Wander, Onward, Holopoint and WorldLens. I'm a firm believer that there are positive effects on the mind if you use VR properly. Horizon Worlds was not using VR correctly. Firstly, we need to limit children's access to adults in the bedrooms. I hated putting on my glasses and seeing legless children running around that pink floating amusement park. Not that I hate kids but I missed my Tokyo virtual environment. My jungle hideaway. My beach home in the Atlantic. Then I'm one of those kids who remembers the dangerous of Xbox 360 chats being on the news. Ya'll remember that kid that got kidnapped talking to someone on 360? Well that just happened to a little girl named Hailey Buzbee in between my commute to work. I live 2.8 miles from my workplace..
Sorry, that case has been on my mind. Like I was saying, limiting adults access to other people's kids. And virtual REALITY can take a dark turn. I don't spend that much time on there but I can only imagine the crimes not being documented on there. Or not even happening yet because the headsets aren't as popular as I thought they would be. I have been in VRchat and seen some weird situations between voice age ranges that shouldn't be communicating.
It's 10:11pm on a school night and Cartoon Network is running that commercial for that toy again. Your mom is sleep, you grab the house phone, dial digits, and hear "Are you over 18?" Over 18 for all adults, under 18 for all children. BUILD THAT WALL! Or Big Brother monitor the accounts tagged as children, give 'em an AI version of Chris Hanson in the DMs. We have artificial intelligence now, even if the kid regristers as 18, he's cooked. Like two FBI agents going undercover in the 1950s, 12 sticks out like a sore thumb.
So, badabing adult to adult, thanks Marky. I'll be purchasing the new Oculus now. I had to pump the brakes because I don't like squeaky noises but looks like SpongeBob sold the boots.
